Google will indeed reveal Android O on Monday, the day of the US total solar eclipse, as previously rumoured. The visible shape of the solar corona during the eclipse's totality neatly matches the symbol 'O', and we can expect Google to reveal the name of its latest Android version, as well as announce release dates of the final build of Android O for eligible Google devices, if not release it the same day. There is also a chance the company may give a glimpse of the new Pixel smartphones. Google Maps has added a helpful feature to navigation that should make it a little easier to plan your next journey. The app will now tell you how long your travel time may be depending on when you leave. A bar graph compares your current estimated time of arrival to what it would be if you left in the next half hour, or even two hours into the future. The feature is already live on our devices, so Google might not be doing a lengthy rollout with this particular new feature. The information is presented as a bar graph that looks very similar to the one used to denote hours when businesses are busiest. You can even look one hour in the past, to kick yourself over how much time you might have saved if you just left a little earlier. Halli Labs, a Bengaluru-based company that specialises in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), has been acquired by Google . The startup came into existence barely four months ago. The Halli Labs team will be joining Google’s Next Billion Users effort, the Internet giant’s initiative to bring the next billion users from emerging markets like India online. This is said to be the first acquisition of an Indian company by Google . It’s not entirely clear how large Halli Labs is, but its core team members, including Pankaj Gupta and Pradhuman Jhala, were previously at marketplace Stayzilla. Gupta, who founded Halli Labs and assumes CEO position, was the chief product officer and chief technology officer at Stayzilla, while Jhala was the chief architect. Summer is nearing, and workplaces everywhere are awaiting the arrival of this year's interns to help out on extra projects and shoulder the seasonal load. But among certain companies, they're likely doing more than getting coffee and making copies. Or at least, they're being paid that way. According to a new  report  by the jobs site Glassdoor, the 25 best-paying companies for internships each pay their median summer worker more than $4,500 a month. That amount, if it was paid over the course of a full year, would be north of $54,000, exceeding the median annual pay for a U.S. worker, according to Glassdoor's own  local pay reports  ($51,350), and the annual figure calculated from the Bureau of Labor Statistics' latest weekly earnings  data  for full-time wage and salary workers ($44,460). It looks like Google is preparing to go head to head with services like Greenhouse, Jobvite, and others. The online search giant will launch Google Hire, a service that allows companies to post job listings as well as accept and manage applications. Google Hire hasn’t been officially announced yet, but the website is already live. The sign in page is visible to everyone, while everything else is hidden at the moment. As of now, there’s no word on exactly when the service will be launched. However, based on the fact that the website is already up, we probably won’t have to wait for much longer. In this new video (found below) Google developer Nasir Khan presents Android O’s developer preview, giving us a quick look at what to expect from the tech giant’s new operating system. Android O’s developer preview released last week and now Khan has presented a five-minute look at the features included in the upcoming operating system. Khan explains that Android O gives the ability to control what actions specific apps are able to perform when running in the background. The purpose of Android O controlling background services, “is an effort to improve interactive performance by improving RAM usage,” says Khan. According to Khan, apps active in the background of an Android O device will only run for a short period of time after the app is closed.
